Since 1979, The UAE has been participating in the Sumo tournament by gifting the winner a huge coffee pot. The usage of the coffee pot is an indication of hospitality in the UAE, where guests are always welcomed by a fresh cup of coffee.

On July 12, 2024, at 9:45 a.m., State Minister for Foreign Affairs TSUJI Kiyoto met with H.E. Dr. GIBRIL Ibrahim Mohamed, Sudan's Minister of Finance and Economic Planning. The meeting lasted approximately 40 minutes.

On July 29, the 14th Meeting of the Improvement of Business Environment and Investment Working Group between Japan and Qatar was held online. Attendees included Mr. FUNATSU Ryuichi, Director of the Second Middle East Division, officials from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From December 17th to 20th, Mr. MORI Eisuke, a member of the House of Representatives of Japan and Chairman of the Japan-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Association, is visiting the State of Kuwait to extend condolences on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, as a Special Envoy of Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio.
On July 10-11, 2024, the 5th Japan-Arab Economic Forum was co-hosted by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), and the League of Arab States in Tokyo.

On April 23rd, commencing at 4:30 p.m., for approximately 25 minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan held a telephone talk with H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On June 25, Ambassador Futoshi MATSUMOTO, the Ambassador of Japan to Iraq, along with Ninawa Governor Mr. Abdulqader Al-Dakhil and representatives from Japanese companies like Toyota Iraq, Sumitomo Corporation, Nippon Paint, and TOTO, as well as the Peace Winds of Japan NGO, participated in a roundtable discussion.
